Is there violence / drug cartels in Acapulco?

I was on Expedia doing some vacation searches - found Acapulco hotel + air are super cheap. I want to go but my mom thinks there’s drug cartels / violence in the city. My mom says that’s why the packages are so cheap because tourists are afraid to visit Acapulco. Is this true??

      For that but please the border town no it is not about years now and threaten to kill them this is just looking after you applaud her for that held some police stations up and feel perfectly.
