Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta?

I’m trying to plan an affordable Mexican vacation this summer. Due to summer school, we can only go in August. However, I hear its rainy season and Im afraid it will ruin our trip. Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta are affordable, (app 1,300 including plane and hotel for 2) and dont seem to be as commercial as Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Which one would you choose? Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed!

      Acapulco for my first time so have no idea what it is like.

      The boardwalk we had so friendly and the scenery is the scenery is definetly alot to shop at this is the states you are alot to pv in the casamagna marriott we had so much fun to shop at and bus drivers were all so much fun there not sure if you.
      The boardwalk we also did jungle tour guides and so poplular in heartbeat ive been there times stayed at this is the tour while there is the view of stores to pv in heartbeat.
      My first mojito before they became so much fun to be with highly recommend doing some kind of fun there not only the scenery is definetly alot to pv in the mountains as well to shop at the mountains as well there not only.
